Lists and Rankings

In the area below, we will be continuing to add lists and rankings to help members see what producers are at the most risk of counterfeiting as you buy, sell, and look at wines.

Following are the producers’ bottles our team of TCM Certified Authenticators are finding most frequently in global markets as of August 2023:

This represents a ranking of the counterfeit label evidence found in our inspection of items seized from Kurniawan’s home at the time of his arrest, in descending order. This is just one list we could, and will make, from this evidence. It reflects what we found in terms of the different vintages, sizes, vineyards, and styles of labels of these producers we counted. This does not reflect the actual number of bottles produced, nor the quantity of any particular type of wine that was produced. For perspective, there are over 120 different Domaine de la Romanée-Conti labels we catalogued, and photographed, including at least 5 different labels for 1945 Romanée-Conti.
