Hoddesdon Fraudster Jailed for Stealing Thousands from Wine Investors
Two men were jailed for their activity in a wine investment scam. Abu Hanifa and Onur Kemal Aslan are the most recent criminals to be charged for stealing investment money from unsuspecting collectors without ever receiving wines for their money. Read more about it here.

Food Fraud: High Roller of the Crime Scene
Crime rings are turning away from drugs and weapons for food and wine frauds, as they are lucrative with a low chance of risk. With estimates of 50% of counterfeit wines in China, wine producers, especially in Australia, are frightened for their brands. Read more about it
Alibaba Sues Maker of Fake Wuliangye Spirits
Chinese website Alibaba sued a maker of fake liquor for 123,000. Alibaba has actively pursuing these counterfeiters to protect the authentic products on their sites. Read more about it here.
Russian Rudy Jailed for DRC Fakes
Aleksandr Iugov was sentenced to four years in prison for selling $2Million worth of fake DRC Romanee-Conti from 2012 to 2014. Read more about it here.
£230 Million Worth of Fake Alcohol & Food Seized Worldwide
Interpol and Europol have found fake food and alcohol worth £230 Million. This includes 26.4 million litres of counterfeit alcohol. Sixty-one countries were involved from December through March. Read more about it here.
World Wine Traders Sign Accord on Fighting Counterfeits
Eight countries have signed up to share information and technical information regarding wine counterfeiting. The countries include Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, Georgia, New Zealand, South Africa, and the US. Read more about it here.
